Apex Coins, the paid currency of Apex Legends, are bought through the player’s platform store or the EA app, and per EA’s help pages they sit in a wallet shared across PC, Xbox and PlayStation, with a separate wallet on Nintendo Switch 2. A reseller reaches the buyer with platform wallet credit, or on PC with EA Gift Cards that fund the EA Wallet. There is no single “EA Coins” currency: EA credit means the EA Wallet, and each game keeps its own currency.
This guide covers the Apex side of EA’s catalogue and the EA-wide products around it: the EA app, EA Gift Cards and EA Play. The football currency, which follows different platform rules, is covered separately in EA SPORTS FC Points wholesale.
Apex Coins and the shared wallet
The most useful fact for a seller is one that sets Apex apart from most console games. EA’s help page on missing Apex content explains that Apex Coins are kept in a wallet, and that there are only two wallets:
- one for Nintendo Switch 2, visible and usable only there;
- one shared by all other platforms: PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
So a player who buys Apex Coins on PlayStation sees the same balance on PC and Xbox, provided they are signed in to the same EA Account. That is friendlier than the strict per-platform rule of FC Points or Call of Duty Points. Coins are shared, but the credit that buys them is not: a PlayStation card still only funds a PlayStation purchase. Listings still need the platform; they can add that coins bought there also appear on PC and Xbox under the same EA Account (except Switch 2).
The same page lists the other details support teams will need:
- Content sent to the wrong EA Account cannot be moved to another account.
- Steam players with missing coins are advised to launch the game through the EA app.
- EA asks players to wait 24 hours before contacting it about missing content, and to bring proof of purchase.
- When a real-money purchase is refunded, EA removes the equivalent Apex Coins, and the balance can go negative; new coins then clear the negative balance first.
That last point matters to anyone who sells to customers with a habit of disputing payments. A refunded platform purchase takes the coins back, whatever was bought with them. The wider mechanics are in gift card chargebacks.
Where Apex Coins are bought
EA’s page names the sellers players should contact for real-money purchase problems: EA for the EA app, Epic for PC, Microsoft for Xbox, Nintendo for Switch 2, Sony for PlayStation, and Steam for PC. Those are the storefronts, and each one is a route a reseller can fund.
| Player’s platform | Storefront | What a reseller sells |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation | PlayStation Store | PlayStation wallet credit for the account’s region |
| Xbox | Microsoft Store | Xbox gift cards for the account’s region |
| PC via Steam | Steam | Steam Wallet credit |
| PC via Epic | Epic Games Store | Check which prepaid products Epic accepts in your market |
| PC via the EA app | EA app | EA Gift Cards, in countries where EA sells them |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Nintendo eShop | Nintendo eShop credit (separate Apex wallet) |
Platform wallet credit is the dominant product. It behaves like any other console or PC gift card, it never goes out of date with a season, and the customer chooses the coin pack in the game or the store. The brand guides for the main platforms are PSN codes, Xbox and Nintendo eShop codes and Steam Wallet codes in bulk.
A store that receives requests for “Apex Coins codes” should be careful about what it promises. Unless your supplier carries a specific Apex Coins product and can state its platform and redemption route in writing, sell wallet credit and describe it honestly: “PlayStation Store credit, spendable on Apex Coins”.
EA Gift Cards and the EA Wallet
For PC players on the EA app, EA has its own prepaid product. Per EA’s help pages:
- An EA Gift Card is a prepaid card for the EA app and EA.com, sold only in a listed set of countries in North America, South America, Europe and Oceania, in amounts that differ by country.
- The redeemed balance sits in the EA Wallet, which EA uses automatically before other payment methods unless the player chooses otherwise.
- The balance buys digital games, EA Play memberships and real-money items in EA’s PC games, plus Pogo products for US residents.
- The first card a player redeems fixes the wallet’s country. After that, cards from other countries cannot be redeemed.
That last rule is the region lock in a different form, and it is the most important line to include in an EA Gift Card listing. The general logic of region locks is in why gift cards are region-locked.
EA’s help page “Where to buy EA games and accepted payment methods” adds that payment method availability varies by what is being bought, the player’s location and currency, and that some payment methods can’t be used to buy virtual currency. Test the full path, from card to EA Wallet to an Apex Coins purchase, in each market before listing EA Gift Cards as an Apex product.
EA Play memberships
EA Play is EA’s subscription: a library of EA games, trials of selected new releases, monthly in-game rewards, and a member discount on EA digital purchases, which EA’s pages say includes points packs. There is also a higher tier, EA Play Pro. Per EA’s membership page, a membership applies to one platform only.
On consoles, EA Play is sold through the platform stores: the PlayStation Store and the Xbox store both list EA Play memberships. On PC, EA’s help pages list EA Play memberships among the things the EA Wallet can pay for.
For a reseller, EA Play is a subscription product rather than currency, and it suits a different listing: one that names the platform, the term, and the fact that the membership renews unless cancelled where it is bought as a recurring subscription. If a supplier offers EA Play as prepaid codes, confirm the platform, region and term per SKU, and how it redeems.

Frequently asked questions
Are Apex Coins shared between PlayStation, Xbox and PC?
Yes, per EA’s help pages. Apex Coins are kept in a wallet, and PC, Xbox and PlayStation share the same one, provided the player uses the same EA Account. Nintendo Switch 2 has a separate wallet: coins bought there are usable only on Switch 2, and the shared balance does not appear there. Coins sent to the wrong EA Account cannot be moved.
How do I sell Apex Coins as a reseller?
Mostly through platform wallet credit: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam gift cards that the player spends on Apex Coins in the game or the store, and EA Gift Cards for PC players on the EA app in countries where EA sells them. Name the platform and region on every SKU and describe the product as wallet credit unless your supplier carries a specific Apex Coins product.
Is there an EA Coins gift card?
There is no EA-wide coin currency. EA’s own prepaid product is the EA Gift Card, which adds money to the EA Wallet for use in the EA app and on EA.com, including real-money items in EA’s PC games and EA Play memberships. Each game keeps its own currency, such as Apex Coins or FC Points. EA Gift Cards are sold only in certain countries, and the first card redeemed fixes the wallet’s country.
Can EA Gift Cards be used on PlayStation or Xbox?
EA’s help pages describe the EA Gift Card as a card for the EA app and EA.com, so it is a PC product. Console players buy Apex Coins and EA Play through the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store, funded by that platform’s wallet credit. Sell PlayStation or Xbox credit to console players rather than EA Gift Cards.
What happens to Apex Coins if a purchase is refunded?
Per EA’s help pages, when a real-money purchase is refunded, EA removes the equivalent amount of Apex Coins from the wallet. If the player has already spent them, the balance goes negative, and new coins first clear that negative balance. For sellers this is a reminder that disputed payments upstream lead to clawbacks downstream.
